What’s Taking Place:

Christ has come to judge the world.  He has come with the hosts of heaven in the clouds as was foretold.  Everyone must stand before Him and be judged.  Those who believe in Him are separated from those who do not believe in Him.  The group of people on Christ’s right look up to Him in expectation of being taken to heaven with joy.  The group of people on Christ’s left look about in terror in anticipation of being everlastingly condemned.

Symbol:

The lightning symbolized the suddenness of Christ’s returning to judge the world.
