What’s Taking Place:
The Lord’s Supper replaces the sacramental meals of the Old Testament. In the Lord’s Supper Jesus is initiating a sacrament consisting of His true body and blood of which His disciples will partake for the forgiveness of their sins. The Old Testament foreshadowing has been replaced by the New Testament fulfillment.
Symbol:
Chalice and Wheat. The chalice represents the cup which Jesus used. The wheat represents the bread.
